ASKA’S ANIMALS FOUNDATION

CANINE BEHAVIOR SUPPORT PROGRAMS

Free Behavior Support

Aska’s Animals Foundation provides free Behavior Support for individuals facing urgent, unexpected, dangerous or time-sensitive situations with their dogs. Our primary goal is to help keep dogs in their homes and prevent them from being surrendered to shelters and we do not want cost to get in the way.

Training Punch Pass

Our Training Punch Pass, which will offer personalized sessions with our Behavior Team, designed to meet your dog’s unique needs. Whether you’re welcoming a new puppy, working on recall, or reinforcing basic commands, this flexible option is perfect for tackling common challenges or maintaining good behavior. It’s an in-depth approach tailored just for you and your dog.

Canine Behavior Workshops

Monthly, free Canine Behavior Workshops hosted by our Behavior Team offer a wonderful opportunity for round-table discussions and a deeper dive into canine behavior. You’ll gain valuable insights that apply directly to your dog, helping you set them up for success.

Shelter & Rescue Support

Are you a shelter or rescue that needs help with canine behavior? Whether it is assessing a resident dog, educating staff & volunteers or assisting adoptions, our Behavior Team has a variety of ways where we can be of assistance and free of cost.

Training & Behavior Services

Thanks to generous donor funding, Aska’s Animals now offers free or subsidized one-on-one training with our Canine Behavior Specialists for dog owners in need. Our goal is to keep pets in their homes and out of shelters by addressing behavioral issues before surrender becomes necessary. We use positive reinforcement and science-based, reward-driven training methods.

Priority for free or subsidized services is given to dogs at risk of being surrendered or with behavior concerns impacting the safety and health of the household. For those able to afford regular training, we offer a Training Punch Pass. For more details or to request assistance, please contact our team.

Dog Behavior Workshops

Our monthly free workshops provide valuable insights into dog behavior and communication, helping owners understand the difference between management and training. Attendees can ask specific questions and receive guidance from our trainers in a supportive, judgment-free environment.

These workshops aim to make quality dog training accessible to everyone, thanks to the generosity of our donors. For more information or to inquire about subsidized training services, please contact our team.

Shelter & Rescue Support

Aska’s Animals is excited to offer free behavior support services to our partner shelters, thanks to a generous donation from Lulu’s Fund. This includes Puppy Preschool sessions, pre- and post-adoption counseling, specialized dog classes, and monthly educational meetings for staff.

We are committed to supporting shelters and the animals in their care through ongoing behavioral counseling and training resources. For more information or assistance, please fill out the form or contact our team.

Understanding the CPDT-KA Certification

The Certified Professional Dog Trainer – Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA) credential is one of the most respected certifications in the dog training industry awarded by the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT). It demonstrates that a trainer has met rigorous professional standards and is committed to humane, science-based methods. CPDT-KA trainers are required to adhere to a strict code of ethics and are dedicated to ongoing education and professional development. For pet owners and animal welfare organizations, this certification provides peace of mind—knowing that the trainer has both the experience and the knowledge to support dogs compassionately and effectively. At Aska’s Animals Foundation, we are proud to have a CPDT-KA certified professional as part of our team, ensuring the highest quality of care and training support for animals in our community.

Testimonials

“Thank you for the organization and the spot-on help.  You guys are good.”

“Thank you so much for taking the time to talk with me about all my options for Loki.  It was very comforting to be encouraged and know I was supported. Thank you again for your support during this process, it was extremely valuable to me.”

“Thank you so much!!! Really appreciate all of the information and the fact that you all provide this amazing resource.”

“Thank you so much for all of this information, I appreciate the additional videos and links!

Loki is doing well. I am greatly revived and overjoyed to see him so happy. We are working on reducing stressful moments for Loki. The kids have all their neighborhood friends text us before they come over, and my husband installed a couple of tiny cameras to alert us or surprise arrivals. We are now better equipped to set Loki up for success! Thank you so much for your time and all of your wisdom-sharing with me.”

“The one-on-one advice you gave is gold, and it is so very appreciated. Fannie and I are so grateful that we reached out (we should have sooner!) and want you to know that everything you all do at Aska’s is SO wonderful and inspiring – I have loved following along for years. The resources you have all created and have available to us all really radiate the true heart of these valleys. The animals here (and their parents), as well as all the others that cross your paths are so very lucky.”

“Thank you so much!! Sam was wonderfully helpful and for the first time I’m crying maybe tears of relief instead of fear!”

“Thank you for spending time with us yesterday and sharing such helpful info.  We only wish we’d learned it 3 months ago we we first started to foster Toffee.”

“Thank you for all of the details. We wanted to let you know that we have decided to keep S******, and that separation training has been going fairly well so far. There are some days when we feel the dogs a pretty cooped up, but most days we have been able to achieve a healthy balance of time behind the gate and time being outside or able to roam freely in the house (like when kids are sleeping!). Your visit to our home was invaluable, and we will keep all of these records and documents for further use. ”

“I really appreciate your patient and kind attitude and your very helpful suggestions on how to get our baby girl living in our home in a way that works for all of us! I ordered the ex pen already and the blanket over the cage and sound machine has worked wonders already! The frozen kong treats also have really slowed her down and give her something to focus on for a while.

Gratefully x 100”
