THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT
WHAT IS ASKA’S ANIMALS FOUNDATION?
Aska’s Animals Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue located in Victor, Idaho. We’re reimagining animal welfare with innovative approaches. Our mission focuses on three key areas: RESCUE, nurturing homeless puppies for adoption using science-based methods; CANINE BEHAVIOR, offering free resources to dog owners for success; and SANCTUARY, providing a lifelong home for farm animals in need. In just three years, AAF has housed 343+ puppies, supported 500+ dog owners, and offered sanctuary to over 70 farm animals. Join us in making a difference! Whether we are nurturing homeless puppies for adoption, offering free canine behavior resources to dog owners in need, or providing sanctuary for rescued farm animals, our supportive community of animal enthusiasts keeps us motivated and inspired.
FIVE YEAR PLAN. YOUR SUPPORT MATTERS.
Given the current landscape of animal rescue and the increasing requests for support from regional shelters, by 2029, the Aska’s Animals Team needs a larger structure to continue filling the gap between animal shelter and permanent rescue by housing homeless animals during their most vulnerable growth periods. Fortunately, Aska Langman, the Founder and Board President, owns the 50 acres of land that houses Aska’s Animals. With the right funding, there is abundant space to build a barn that accommodates a larger number of animals as well as offices for our growing team and classroom space for community members seeking assistance.
WHAT IS HAPPENING ON THE FARM
Providing a progressive environment for animals through rehabilitation, adoption, education, and community outreach and filling the critical gap between shelter and permanent rescue.
PUPPY PALACES
Between 2021 and 2022, we constructed three Puppy Palaces, which have become the cornerstone of our non-profit. These innovative spaces not only address the immediate needs of puppies born in regional shelters but also contribute to our long-term goal of reducing the number of animals requiring rehoming or sanctuary care. Providing a stress-free environment with professional care, we offer early puppyhood development to reduce the likelihood of them entering the shelter system later in life. Our facilities can accommodate one to three litters, ranging from 5 to 35 puppies, for a typical care duration of two to eight weeks.
BEHAVIOR PROGRAM
In May 2023, a full-time Canine Behavior Specialist was hired at Aska’s Animals to prevent behavioral issues leading to shelter entries. Since then, 150 local dog owners received 1:1 Private Canine Behavior Support, 70 attended in-person and virtual Canine Behavior Workshops, 35 puppies graduated from Puppy Preschool in collaboration with the Animal Adoption Center, and support was provided to 25 behavior cases in regional shelters. We also added 9 free online canine behavior classes to our website. The program’s success depends on dedicated donors – thank you for enabling this full-time position!
SPAY/NEUTER & VET VISITS
A crucial aspect of animal rescue is vaccination and spay/neuter. Until now, Aska’s Animals has depended on regional partners to finance these requirements, but with our expansion, our goal is complete vaccinations and spay/neuter procedures while the animals are in our care. The animals will recover from surgery in the sanctuary, and our partnering rescues and shelters will be more inclined to accept them into their programs. With every animal that moves through our program, we try to ‘close the loop’ on that animal’s shelter experience meaning we do our best to make sure they don’t end up in a shelter in the future. For both the animals and the people involved in placing them in suitable homes, the process will be quicker and smoother.
FACILITY EXPANSION
As Aska’s Animals expands, we currently require additional facilities before constructing our ideal barn. Securing a rented house on the property offers a versatile solution, serving as office space, a community workshop venue, and additional canine accommodations, meeting various needs until our dedicated space is realized. A finally… a working toilet for staff, volunteers and supporters. If you’ve visited the farm, you’ve probably experienced our not-so-glamorous port-a-potty.
