Our @spotify Wrapped is here! 🫶

According to Spotify, we cleaned up a lot of poop this year—and had a great time doing it! This year has been nothing short of amazing, and we feel so lucky to do this work.

Cheers to everyone in the animal welfare industry working hard every day. We’re endlessly grateful for the incredible people who support us and the amazing team we work alongside.

Happy Thanksgiving! We are incredibly grateful for everyone who supports, inspires and fuels us. Words can’t fully capture how lucky we feel, and we had an amazing time with all of you this morning.

Our first annual Pigsgiving Pig Trot was nothing short of incredible—filled with smiles, rescue puppies, donuts from @earlybirdbakesdriggs, coffee from @jacksonholeroasters, spoiled sanctuary pigs, and a wonderful sense of community.

This month has been extraordinary. We just launched our first children’s book, tomorrow, on Thanksgiving, we’ll gather with 100 community members for our Pigsgiving Fun Run—a day of gratitude, connection, and joy. And as of today, we’ve met our $100,000 fundraising goal, a milestone that reflects the love, trust, and value YOU, our supporters, pour into this work.

Through all of this, we remain grounded in our daily mission: caring for the 75+ animals who call Aska’s Animals home—whether permanently or while transitioning to new families. These moments are made possible by the efforts of our dedicated volunteers, Board of Directors, and incredible staff members.

The other night, as I read the new book with my son—words that tell the story of our home and the animals we call family—it struck me how extraordinary this moment was. Here was a book about Aska’s Animals, created not by me but by people who believe so deeply in our mission. Jenna brought this project to life with her vision and dedication, Hope wove her magical words into the pages, and Grace added beautiful imagery.

As we packaged up the books, I was overcome by the realization of how much this work has grown beyond me. When we first started, I knew every donor’s name. Today, I don’t recognize every name on the shipping labels—and that’s a beautiful thing. It means that what began as my personal mission has blossomed into an organization powered by a passionate community that shares our vision of saving animals, providing exceptional care, and supporting others with compassionate support.

This is what I dreamed of when we became a nonprofit: an organization that could continue, thrive, and grow without me at the center. While I’m still deeply involved as a volunteer, I see parts of this work running independently, led by people I trust. Watching this growth is bittersweet—sometimes hard, but so deeply fulfilling.

Some days feel so ordinary, but then you realize—your son is reading a book made by friends for a mission you share. That’s where the extraordinary lives.

Thank you for being part of this journey and making my queen month extraordinary. We couldn’t do it without you.

Our cup is filled with joy for Cricket! 🦗❤️🏡

Adoptions are not our specialty—we have countless partners who excel in this side of animal rescue, and if you’re looking to adopt, you should definitely check them out! However, once in a blue moon, an animal comes along who finds themselves in a pickle, and we have the bandwidth to get creative and help.

Dr. Joe at @jacksonanimalhospital gave us a call after Cricket’s owner passed away. Wanting to keep her from ending up in a shelter, he reached out, and without a proper plan in place, we said “yes.”

A huge shoutout to our board member, @jacpierce12, who stepped up to foster Cricket and did all the heavy lifting while our team focused on our full house of puppies, the Pigsgiving Pig Trot, and our children’s book.

Cricket’s new family has big shoes to fill, but we are certain her new parents will go above and beyond. She hit the jackpot—and so did they.

Sometimes you need to minimize the scope of animal rescue to one at a time to realize the impact and know you’re going in the right direction. We ❤️ you, Cricket! 🦗

Inspired by @pattiegonia & @the.cowgirlmermaid, Aska’s Animals is finally offering merch! It was deeply important to us that we weren’t contributing to the production of new clothing but instead utilized what’s already in circulation. Just like the animals we work with, think of this merch as its own “second chance” at life!

Our team hit the thrift stores (special shoutout to @luckydogthriftstore for letting us raid their collection), and @littlescoutcreative created these custom, to-die-for graphics! Not only will we be doing occasional drops of merch, but we’ll also be setting up shop at community events, where you can design your own merch using items from your own closet or from the selection we have on hand.

We’re thrilled to debut this at Pigsgiving next week! In the meantime, you can find a limited collection on our @shopify store.

In addition to merch, we’ll also be selling new and lightly used pet goods that have been graciously donated to us but aren’t needed for our programs. Why shop corporate when you can shop local and have all proceeds go directly to animals in need?

We’re so excited to expand our offerings in the most environmentally friendly way possible and can’t wait to hear what you think. ♥️ ♻️ 🐶

Ok, friends. As we roll into the last 2 weeks of November, Aska will be chiming in with some stories and videos from the past year as we approach the goal of our incredible matching campaign from @lulusfund and to celebrate another year around the sun!

Many of you loved the video from a few weeks ago from when Mama Squash first arrived, and we worked to get her out of the crate. This video captures just a few moments early on with Aska working to gain her trust and get comfortable enough with handling so we could safely introduce the AAF animal care team into her life. Well, a little time and patience is working, and we have integrated more people into her inner circle of life. And, well, obviously, Aska has fallen in love with the kinda weird border collie. What can we say? She likes the weird ones 🤷‍♀️

Our ability to give mamas like this a chance, a place for the babies to grow up safely and to give them the time and behavior support they need is made possible through donations. At the end of the day, we can't save every single dog out there. But the lives that we do touch, we hope it makes a difference. Even for "just" that one dog.

Sunshine to brighten your wintery day ❄️ And Momma’s getting groomed today, thanks to @redroverjh! Stay tuned for her glow-up.

Huge thanks to @littlescoutcreative for opening her home to this group. Without her support, reaching them wouldn’t have been possible. Due to biosecurity measures and our commitment to keeping all vulnerable puppies healthy, we can’t always take in more than our Puppy Palaces can hold, and direct staff fostering from high-volume shelters poses a risk to the farm.

There’s so much more to it than simply placing them in foster care; there are extensive logistics and careful planning involved. We’re grateful we could create a safe, solid plan to make this one work.

We’re excited to watch these pups thrive here and then pass them on to @freedomboundhounds in December to find their forever homes.

A @dogismycopilotinc flight on a beautiful bluebird day, from some of our amazing partners @epanimalsvc, is good for the soul.

❤️‍🔥 Sophie, along with her two puppies and an orphaned pup she adopted, has settled into Puppy Palace 3. Sophie, who is missing a back foot, will need a leg amputation once her puppies are weaned. She’ll be ready for adoption through @animaladoptioncenterjhwy in December.

❤️‍🔥 Becky and her twin boys are with an incredible foster, @littlescoutcreative. Though our farm is at capacity, we couldn’t bear to leave them behind. They’ll be available for adoption through @freedomboundhounds in December.

These moments are truly special in animal rescue. All three Puppy Palaces are now full with moms and their babies, and we have two dedicated foster homes hard at work!
