🚨 Aussie Lovers! 🚨

We have a unique situation with two purebred Australian Shepherds in our program who are now searching for new, loving homes. These well-loved family dogs need to be rehomed due to a move—a heartbreaking reality in today’s world—but through no fault of their own.

Help us give them the bright future they deserve! Please share this post with your friends and family to help us find their perfect families. Meet Ajax & Agni!

🐾 Ajax – 4.5-year-old male, red merle.
Ajax is great with kids, cats, and other dogs! He’s an incredible playmate and a true turnkey companion. We have his complete medical history, and he’ll be visiting the vet soon for a checkup.

🐾 Agni – 6-month-old male, red merle.
Agni is well-socialized with kids, cats, and dogs. As a high-energy juvenile, he will need an adopter experienced with the breed who can dedicate time to training and exercise.

If you’re interested in adopting Ajax or Agni (they do not need to be adopted together), please email us at info@askasanimals.org with your interest and a bit about your household. Please, no phone calls.

We anticipate a high volume of inquiries and will take our time to ensure the best long-term placements for these boys. Thank you for your patience as we help them settle in and begin reviewing adoption inquiries in between caring for all the animals we have on property. ❤️🐶🐶

What better way to kick off the new year than with a full house? Here’s a quick rundown of what’s happening on the farm—puppy-wise:

🐾 Puppy Palace #1
Meemaw and her five little gremlins hail from Idaho Falls, ID. This small breed, Chihuahua-mix family landed at the @ifanimalshelter, which is no place for a mom and her pups! These cuties will be adoption-ready in early February. Stay tuned for updates on where they’ll be available!

🐶 Puppy Palace #2
Cat Balou and her cowboys/girls came from American Falls, ID. This accidental litter is a reminder of the importance of spaying and neutering. Instead of just Cat Balou entering the shelter system as a stray, she and her six pups are now part of the burden. They’ll be adoptable through @rilos_rescue starting February 9th, and applications are open!

💩 Puppy Palace #3
Calamity Jane and the Western Women were rescued from Jerome, ID, where she was found as a stray with her newborns just as temperatures started dropping. This brave mama and her pups will also be available through @rilos_rescue on February 9th. Send in your inquiries now!

Welcome to the Wild West! Calamity Jane & Cat Ballou joined us this week from new partners, @rilos_rescue. Both of these mommas had puppies who were only days old and either accidental or stray.

The animal welfare world surely does feel like the Wild West right now with an endless stream of puppies entering the system that is already overcrowded and overflowing. We are at a moment in time where accidental, unwanted and stray cannot continue to happen. Spay/neuter is the most effective way to help get the pet overpopulation problem under control.

We cannot wait to raise and love all these puppies for them to eventually be available for adoption via @rilos_rescue but PLEASE continue to fight the good fight. Educate others, spay/neuter your own animals & encourage others to do so, foster a dog, donate to animal welfare orgs when you can, share social media, etc. etc. etc.!

Our @spotify Wrapped is here! 🫶

According to Spotify, we cleaned up a lot of poop this year—and had a great time doing it! This year has been nothing short of amazing, and we feel so lucky to do this work.

Happy Thanksgiving! We are incredibly grateful for everyone who supports, inspires and fuels us. Words can’t fully capture how lucky we feel, and we had an amazing time with all of you this morning.

Our first annual Pigsgiving Pig Trot was nothing short of incredible—filled with smiles, rescue puppies, donuts from @earlybirdbakesdriggs, coffee from @jacksonholeroasters, spoiled sanctuary pigs, and a wonderful sense of community.

This month has been extraordinary. We just launched our first children’s book, tomorrow, on Thanksgiving, we’ll gather with 100 community members for our Pigsgiving Fun Run—a day of gratitude, connection, and joy. And as of today, we’ve met our $100,000 fundraising goal, a milestone that reflects the love, trust, and value YOU, our supporters, pour into this work.

Through all of this, we remain grounded in our daily mission: caring for the 75+ animals who call Aska’s Animals home—whether permanently or while transitioning to new families. These moments are made possible by the efforts of our dedicated volunteers, Board of Directors, and incredible staff members.

The other night, as I read the new book with my son—words that tell the story of our home and the animals we call family—it struck me how extraordinary this moment was. Here was a book about Aska’s Animals, created not by me but by people who believe so deeply in our mission. Jenna brought this project to life with her vision and dedication, Hope wove her magical words into the pages, and Grace added beautiful imagery.

As we packaged up the books, I was overcome by the realization of how much this work has grown beyond me. When we first started, I knew every donor’s name. Today, I don’t recognize every name on the shipping labels—and that’s a beautiful thing. It means that what began as my personal mission has blossomed into an organization powered by a passionate community that shares our vision of saving animals, providing exceptional care, and supporting others with compassionate support.

This is what I dreamed of when we became a nonprofit: an organization that could continue, thrive, and grow without me at the center. While I’m still deeply involved as a volunteer, I see parts of this work running independently, led by people I trust. Watching this growth is bittersweet—sometimes hard, but so deeply fulfilling.

Some days feel so ordinary, but then you realize—your son is reading a book made by friends for a mission you share. That’s where the extraordinary lives.

Thank you for being part of this journey and making my queen month extraordinary. We couldn’t do it without you.
